Webshop UX/UI Design ‘Goedkopermet’ webshops

Webshop ‘Goedkopermetled’ (‘Cheaper with led’) sells all kinds of lamps. Michael Klein, owner of the webshop, approached me with the request to design a new (online) brand identity and the UX/UI of the webshop Goedkopermetschakelmateriaal.nl. Keeping in mind that the same logo, corporate identity and UX/UI design could also be used for other webshops in the same series.

Cheaper with led
The existing webshop 'Goedkopermetled' sells LED lamps and lighting accessories. 'Cheaper' means that the webshop positions itself as an online price fighter. But Cheapermetled also wants to offer and promote a greener and eco-friendly alternative to normal lighting.

Logo, corporate identity and UX/UI Design
In addition to the logo and the online house style, the Magento webshop ‘Goedkopermetschakelmateriaal’ also had to be designed. In other words, the store sells light switches and accessories, but from a wide range of suppliers. With many related products and supplies. It soon became clear that it would be a challenging project.

Modular construction to accommodate many products
Naturally, I designed the webshop with growth in mind. So modular. With the possibility to add many new products and product categories in the future. The UX/UI Design had to be able to handle a large amount and variety of products. That translated into space for longer product titles and many different product categories.

Art Direction: Square and technical

Technical squares
The brand identity was based on the creative concept of 'technical squares'. The products sold in the ‘Goedkopermet‘ webshops are all technical in nature. Lamps, taps and switches. The logo therefore had to convey this technical aspect.

Plus sign
Due to ambitious goals to quickly set up multiple online stores, the plus sign has been added. It represents the part of the market where Cheapermet would be active. Where the distinctive character is based on discounts and a family of several online stores.
